conecting laptop to stereo

Hi All
If I'm not happy with the sound of my speakers on my laptop,can I connect my laptop to a stereo amplifier & run itunes through my ap speakers??

Yes, you should be able to run a cable from your laptop's headphone port to your speakers (you may need to buy the correct wiring). I do this all the time with no problems.

It's called a y-cable. Any local electronics store should carry it. Looks like the 2nd one bbqhog had, or like this:
