Nothing registers that there is a CD in my drive

Ok, briefly, my problem is this - I ordered a CD on Amazon.com, and I received it. My whole plan was to just put it on my iPod when I got it, since I can't find the CD on iTunes or anywhere else. If it helps, the CD is called "Devils" by The 69 Eyes.

Anyway, when I put the CD in the drive, a player just for that CD pops up. ITunes and Windows Media Player both say that there is no disc in the drive, and I can't find any music on the CD itself by searching or going through the CD from My Computer. Nothing is working - I can play the CD fine with it's little player, but I can't get it onto my iPod. It's just this one CD that I'm having trouble with.

Has this happened to anyone else, and if so, what did you do? If not, any suggestions?

Read the insert that came with the CD. The info about what type of CD it is and how it will play or if it will play on a computer is probably on the insert somewhere.

Also try opeing the CD player/burner on your computer (go to my computer>CD buurner) and click it open while the CD is in the drive & you will see the files on the CD. Drag them off of the CD onto the desktop of your computer & them transfer them to iTunes and see if they will play.

Open the drive physically (i.e. press the button on your tower) press Shift and hold it. Insert CD while still holding shift. After the disk is done spinning release shift. Holding shift turns off Autoplay or whatever, and will stop it from playing any software. That may work.

Since they're an EMI artist, you might try the method described here: http://www.dsg.cs.tcd.ie/~haahrm/copying-protected-cds/
