People With iPods at your School

Yes, and I hate it. As much as I enjoy seeing them, it's just a trend. Just as the LIVE STRONG bands were last year.

yea, i wouldnt say lots of ppl, but a quite a few got ipods. Minis seems to be most popular. and then shuffles. Not too many have the larger ones

Most people I have seen have the 4G iPod and the mini. I'm one of about like 5 people (including 1 teacher) who have 3G iPod's. I think 2 people have shuffles. About 95% of the iPod users at my school use the stock 'buds, so I'm disappointed in them for that.

As far as I know, there are a total of three full size ipods at school. The other ones are probably mini's. I've seen a few people with white earbuds.

The thing that bothers me is that I know people whow were telling me "iPods are for losers" when I got my 3rd gen, but now cary around minis and wave them in my face.

I counted nearly 50 ipods and 47 white earbuds one day on campus. And down in middle school i estimate there were about 30 and everyone except for me used the stock earbuds. Another thing to note, the ipod theft in our schools is huge. I know about 10 people who have had theirs stolen and then in the next month or so, their parents replaced it. Whats worse is that I am the only one that worked for his, everyone else had their rich ### parents buy it for them.
On another note, people are just wearing the white earbuds for popularity. It's kinda like "Hey look guys! I'm cool too!". I tell my friends not to wear them but they insist on being cool.

Every one on my school has iPods, last year people in my science class collected money and gave a mini to the teacher

Almost 75% of everyone has an apple product one way or the other- and ipod, powerbook, or an ibook.

I'm the only guy with a 30GB iPod Photo I know. I've seen Nanos, Minis and 3rd Gens floating around though.

Im the only one at my school to have a 5G Ipod Video, other than that its about 40% at Missouri State University! (formerly: SMSU)

Thats not fair i earned my 15 giger and my 40 a. because i got good grades and b. my sister didnt need her big 40 gig creative thing and c. the 40 giger photo was opend box at best buy and i use it for prensenations and now its full! i dont use the buds they suck i use cheap radio shack head phones now im lookin into a vid ipod i have the money but i'd be better off selling my 40 as i have no time for a job like i did during the summer

i had a 15 giger before it was cool in jersey now every body has them and there parents jst give them the pods as i stated above i had to earn mine i with honor role grades and i use a lap top as my hand writtening sucks

Nano's are pretty common at NYU - two personal persons have black nano's. I've seen one 5G - a fellow Sternie, as it happens.

Since I started High School a few months back (I'm 12 but I live in Scotland. We don't have middle school's here) I have noticed a lot of people have iPods. They are mainly mini's but I have seen a few shuffles and 4th generations.

At first, I thought I was the only one in my school with an iPod. But I started noticing other people have them, just not as obsessed about them as I am; and they don't talk about them like crazy as I do.

Daughter reported that her class got 4G and minis for Christmas last year, not one got a nano or a video..parents won't upgrade that fast.
She was the first kid in middle school with an iPod, and since she has taken care of it, she may get my video if I can swing a 60 GB for me.
Her buds are a set of red Sony 51's, the other kids use stock buds.

I do think the Nano is stupid, I have seen atleast 30 of them, and I think they are pointless, because I payed $50 more for 26GB more of space. (I have a 5G, btw, and have only seen one other person at my school with one.) And the sad thing is, whenever I whip it out, the first question I am asked is, "Do you have porn on it?". And the even sadder thing is, I do. xD

I'm in 11th grade and just as many people who have them get them stolen. The sad part is that it's freaking New Hampshire, the city next to us is all farm lands, we're the biggest of all nearby cities by a huge margin (we have something upwards of 85 000 and nearby cities have like 50, some of them are so far out there that everyone knows each other on a first name basis.) My iPod was safer sitting in my car when I stayed in Harlem for two weeks (Don't even ask about parking, effing ridiculous).

Well, seeing as my school has 2000+ students, yes there are alot of ipods!!

I mostly noticed them (reg. ipods) last year after christmas. I would say the different kinds of ipods is even, many shuffles, nanos (black & white), minis (silver, green, blue... havn't seen a pink yet), and mostly 4g(?, reg click wheel ipods, before widescreen video) and I think one video so far...... and this kid in one of my classes uses the white apple earbuds but reg mp3 player. They can't be that good of headphones can they? Any ways, ipods have taken over the school........:o

2 iPods in my skl:

1 5g iPod (30 GB, white, completely full, and all mine!)
1 3g iPod (20 GB, white, completely full, and my friends)

Everyone at my univ. has an ipod. If you go to the library, all you'll see is white earbuds (apple). Then I bust out with my e2c and altoid headphone amp. Then I study away to Better than Ezra.

Are you kidding me? The nano is the only iPod that doesn't really have a rival in it's class. If someone wants a flash based mp3 player with a decent amount of space (2 gb or more) their only choice is the nano... until the Sandisk Sansa e200 comes out. There are other hdd mp3 players that are in the same price range as video iPods but with a TON of more features (the Archos AV480, for example). Maybe people buy the nano because they LIKE IT'S FEATURES? Wow, imagine that!

Really, iPods are not the status symbol some of you elitists would make them out to be. You're the kind of person that keeps that image of the pompous, stuck up, and snobby Apple user alive and well:rolleyes:
