Best Cases (Manufactured for nano, not Homemade)
I think this one looks freakishly cool:
http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_ID=249385#
Especially cool with the black nano. (Though unfortunately I got white.)
# 1 Re: Best Cases (Manufactured for nano, not Homemade)
Not unfortunate that you got the White one, the black one is to..vulnerable.
# 2 Re: Best Cases (Manufactured for nano, not Homemade)
that is a pretty slick one. I was thinking about getting this one, over at iskin.com , until I saw the one you posted. Hmm, guess I need the nano first though!! :D

hmm im not allowed to post urls...
check out the tunewear website, the product is "tunewallet nano"
# 4 Re: Best Cases (Manufactured for nano, not Homemade)
the Belkin cases do look nice, although a little bulky. i like this one most 'cause of the clip:
http://images.belkin.com/F8Z059-BLK/FUL1_F8Z059-BLK.jpg
but, i don't like that the player would be right-side up. that would make the cord on the headphones almost too short (for me). the Folio case looks nice, as well, but again, a little bulky. do places like Best Buy generally carry these kinds of cases in-store?

I think the Speck SkinTight Deluxe ( http://speckproducts.com/nano-skintight-deluxe.html) case looks the most promising now because of the included screen protector and the removable belt clip. I have mine on order and hopefully I'll have it in about a month.
# 6 Re: Best Cases (Manufactured for nano, not Homemade)
I've ordered the Speck Toughskin --> http://www.speckproducts.com/nano-toughskin.html

what about this one?
http://www.zcover.com/zCover_Product_iPod_nano_Original.htm
it looks pretty cool for $25 you get 2 cases one lanyard design and one normal. screen cover, lanyard necklace, and a free pouch.

Okay, why is that censored? Just type in "z cover" (no space; no quotes) in Google.
# 9 Re: Best Cases (Manufactured for nano, not Homemade)
Those cases aren't bad. I prefer the leather ones. I find something about putting a trendy iPod in a (usually ugly) plastic case unappealing...maybe dorky...rather have scratches. (No offense...that just what I'd think everytime I saw it...rational or not.)
I didn't see that other Belkin one. That's nice in the sense it covers the screen and controls except when you're using it, when you don't want anything in the way. Smart!
I also like the Tunewear stuff. I don't think I'd ever use the tunewallet as such...but I this (http://www.tunewear.com/english/product/ambassador_ipod/index.html) is nice...very similar to the Belkin one. Though perhaps it's trying too hard to be trendy...and twice the price, too!
I guess I have a while to think about this (lol) because I can't find any selling now! Sigh.

BTW, when anyone finds a place with the case d-bear pointed out, please alert me!
I photoshoped a white nano in it, to show why I thought it was too bad I didn't get black. Not as nice visually as black w/ black.

# 14 Re: Best Cases (Manufactured for nano, not Homemade)
I would buy it in a heartbeat if that keychain thing wasnt there. I'll just wait until someone else comes out with armor
# 15 Re: Best Cases (Manufactured for nano, not Homemade)
yah, the keychain is weird but it actually holds the two pieces together.

I am waiting for the new Iskin case...
I have my Decal girl until then
# 17 Re: Best Cases (Manufactured for nano, not Homemade)
I'll probably wait for the iSkin one as well. I have no protection right now, but it's been over a week and other than one minor hairline scratch on the back that you can't see unless you look really closely, my Nano is in perfect condition.

yeah, i want the duo case from iskin. it has everything i want, a screen protector, click wheel protection, and clip, and the two colors look really cool. hopefully it comes out soon and they have good color combos.
# 19 Re: Best Cases (Manufactured for nano, not Homemade)
I found zCover case review in case forum. sounds good. I may buy that one. Both iskin and speck are unavailable, need wait till end of Oct. that's too long....

# 20 Re: Best Cases (Manufactured for nano, not Homemade)
Ive looked at most of the avaliable cases, and i think i'll hold out for either the apple nano tubes or the iskin nano duo.
probably whichever is released first.
# 21 Re: Best Cases (Manufactured for nano, not Homemade)
I think I'm going to get the Belkin folio case in pink. Does anyone know when will be available?
# 22 Re: Best Cases (Manufactured for nano, not Homemade)
I bought the Incase neoprene sleeve with my Nano. When it gets here, I'll post a review, but I have to say, black neoprene on a white Nano does look pretty cool.
# 23 Re: Best Cases (Manufactured for nano, not Homemade)
I'm currently manufacturing an aluminum case with no screen or click wheel access, only headphones. That one will be meant for sports. I'm also manufacturing a plastic case that's meant for every day use. I'm contacting Apple to see the steps to go through to get it on their websites store. If everything with Apple goes according to plan it'll probably be shipping next month. It will take so long because it will be of high quality, and depending on the costs for dealing with Apple, it will be available at a very reasonable price.

I agree.
Take off the keychain and add a removable clip. That case would be perfect.

I'm also waiting for the iSkin nano duo. I've been very happy with iSkin cases for my past 'pods and the dual layer system seems promising, especially after iLounge's review of the Shuffle duo. I'm just hoping for some better colour options/combos than were offered for the Shuffle.
Until then, my nano spends most of her time in my pocket with PDA screen protectors keeping her safe.
# 26 Re: Best Cases (Manufactured for nano, not Homemade)
Personally I like these hard cases from Speck as it doesnt add too much bulk, at least from what I see so far. I be waiting for them to be released.

Best Cases (Manufactured for nano, not Homemade)
# 28 Re: Best Cases (Manufactured for nano, not Homemade)
one thing; it doesn't protect the whole ipod...
# 29 Re: Best Cases (Manufactured for nano, not Homemade)
So far, I have purchased these cases for my girlfriend and myself (both are black):
- A cheap e-bay neoprene case on day one for some protection until other cases rolled out. Although it is super cheap, I like it since it came in a baby blue color that will match my car and some shirts I wear.
- Agent 18 clear case. This is probably my favorite one on the net I have seen so far. I will probaby be ordering a second one once I get to see it in person. The second one I plan on painting some other color (black most likely).
Website: Agent 18 Nano Case (http://www.agent18.com/index.cfm?action=product.show&category=Product&id_category=2ede3f4d-886a-410b-a7b2-1fd6e34765a5&id_product=1203b163-c00a-451b-9de3-751412c8cc9c)
As well as the invisiblesheild:

I will get one of these two in the near future:

http://www.vajacases.com/vaja/catalogo.nsf/htmlmedia/bap161c_comb/$file/abiscotti_black.jpg
And finally, In a few months, it will get sent to colorware:

Vaja cases website (http://www.vajacases.com/)
If dunhill ever makes a case for the nano, I will pu that on my wishlist. Other designer cases for the old school iPod (http://www.city-magazine.com/musthaves_31.html)

# 31 Re: Best Cases (Manufactured for nano, not Homemade)
What color and leather do you think would look best for the vaja cases and a black nano? I am not good at color matching and really have no idea what would look good.
# 32 Re: Best Cases (Manufactured for nano, not Homemade)
I guess its mostly a matter of what looks pleasing to you combined with your fashion sense. Some might argue against a green and pink combination, but if your a combine pink and green socks kind of person go for it. Most people will prefer a more subdued style. Anyone who uses their ipod with a tie would probably play it safe with a flat black.
I guess the same rules would apply for clothes that apply for the iPod (Should it match your belt?)
Flip through all the options it appears that there are two different pages of combinations). Save all the ones you think look nice in a folder. Then, go to that folder and flip through them. Compare any two at a time, saving your favorite of the two and deleting the other. After a while, you will be left with only a short list of ones you really like. Show all of those to your wife/girlfriend/forum members and let them give you advice. After doing something similar with colorwares website, I found that a few days later I elimiated all but two. I guess it just comes down to whether or not you feel comfortable with one over another.

# 33 Re: Best Cases (Manufactured for nano, not Homemade)
I just got the Speck SkinTight and I must say the name doesn't reflect what it is. This thing adds so much bulk to the nano without even much protection if it falls on one of the corners (not sure if it needs it). This may be just a personal thing, but it takes away from what the nano has going for it - a great feel. I've ordered the iSkin duo which I should've done in the first place since I loved their case for my 3G R.I.P. Any one want to buy a barely used Speck SkinTight in black?

UPDATE: I just got my iSkin Duo and it's right on the money. Great protection of the ports on the bottom, doesn't add too much bulk, has a great feel to it. If you're in the market for a silicon case (vs. Leather, hard plastic etc.) then I highly recommend iSkin... The ONLY negatives I have for it: the silicon picks up lint (I've seen some other silicons advertised that are treated to avoid this); there is no protection for the hold slider at the top; and the inner layer's edges around the screen are not perfectly smooth which is only an aesthetic issue. All MINOR negatives.
