DecalGirl Crystal Shield case
Hey,
I got my Nano less than a day ago, and have only been using it for about 5-6 hours... and its already starting to scratch! I desperately need some kind of protective case for it, so I was looking around and came across the Crystal Shield case on decalgirl.com
I was wondering if anyone has tried this, or if you have any thoughts about it? I'm thinking of ordering one, but just wanted to see what you Ipod Gurus thought! :p

I ordered one just to try it. For now i just have a static cling plastic sheet covering the player and honestly its great. My black ipod looks pristine.

ipodstreet.com and zcover.com have tubes in stock. I ordered the ipodstreet tubes and they shipped the same day. Should receive them Tuesday.

Just wondering...are these decals reusable? As in can I take it off and put it back on a later time?

I bought and have 3 of them (red, black, and white) but decided not to use them. I guess I will list them for sale or ebay them.

I am thinking about buying them from the decalgirl.com
Cuz they are cheap, I might have those as temporary
protection until I get some iSkins or some other cases.

The website says you can reuse them. I have the clear being shipped to me.

ms jewelle, can you give us a little review of it when you get it and apply it?
i'm mainly curious about how well it holds up to scratches and if it comes off easily when you slip it in your pocket or not

I just received mine in the mail today but haven't looked at them too closely, since I don't have my nano to put them on yet anyways. I'll post a review when I do use it though.
I heard that they are really sticky, but not totallys sure. I don't think that you'll have a problem with it coming off when slipping in and out of your pocket.
BTW, I got an actual decal, not just the crystal shield.

well, their product quality is good. but it's too bad for shipping cost. it's outrageous! for example, if you order two of them which is cost $2.99 each after 10% discount. shipping cost like over $6. so total is over $10. it is ridiculous.

lol, it is ridiculous, there's like nothing in the package. Problem is, I ordered one of their plastic squeeges just in case I needed it, and they put it right in with the decal. The decal has two large dents from it, so I'm going to have to contact them and better get a replacement.

I got it today and basically I can say my Fellows writeshield does a better job with less mess. The thing goes on and looks crappy. It makes the black nano look cheap and basically un attractive. I spent $10 when I could have bought the iskin case when it comes out ( will buy it anyway). Waste of money. Bubbles everywhere it doesn't align well and just a cheap substitute until a real rubber case comes along.

that is exactly what I say. the iskin will make the decalgirl and others like it not worth it. seriously you can go to best buy and buy an ipaq screen shield 12 of them for less then you get the Decalgirl clear shield for. I got the black nano for the looks too but this makes it look discusting. I will try to post a pic but its similar to what was posted.

I got my Decalgirl vinyl stickers in yesterday and get them put on my nano. I was very careful to clean off my nano with my micro-fiber cloth before putting it on and it went on pretty smoothly. It only protects the front and back (but honestly, what is the likelyhood if the sides getting scratched pretty bad). The one thing that I don't like is that after the stickers are applied, it isn't 100% clear and you can see alot of "shimmering" on the screen (kinda looks like a water droplet on an LCD screen...that is the best way I can describe it). I took my fingernail and rubbed it all over the vinyl and it helped, but you can definately tell that there is a vinyl covering on the nano. It will work until the iSkin case comes out, but I am definately going to get an iSkin as well...

Yeah, it looks like crap.

wait till u take it off cuz u bought a case...
the vinyls gona rip when u try to take it off, leaving adhesive stickyness on ur ipod, and ur going to have to scratch it off. which will scratch ur ipod like hell
