Dead.

I havent used my iPod for like a week and when i left it, it still had power in the battery but even when its off, it slowly drains and now its dead and when i on it its the battery with the exclamation mark screen. its happened twice. happened to anyone else? and why?

Even when your iPod is off it's still technically "running", I think. It drains the battery very slowly, so if you leave it for a week the battery will drain, yes. I think. I'm not sure, I'm kind of pulling this out of my arse.

That is true, but the folder with the ''!'' shouldn't appear when trying to turn back on.

Doesnt that mean its completely drained if theres a "!" with the folder picture?

It shows an icon with a battery and a'!' which tells you that iPod's drained and won't boot without a plugin.

The iPod never completely turns off. There is an internal clock and some other things that will slowly drain the battery. I believe you're ipod should last about 3 weeks on a full battery if you don't turn it on at all.

Yup. Just slap that puppie on the charger semi-regularly like you would a cell phone. I ususally charge mine every 3-5 days depending on usage. Although, if I'm not taking it with me for a long period, I'll just leave it in my dock and let it trickle charge constantly.
