Yes, it's cheap and it shows - it's a little 'plasticky', and the buttons on the remote rattle a bit. BUT, it works perfectly well and at the price I really can't complain. I paid 12 from cd-rmedia.co.uk

The remote has volume controls (which don't work when the ipod is in the dock because the volume is controlled on my amp), forward and back track skip, and play and pause.

I am happy with it, I'm sure the more costly remotes have a much more quality feel but unless you spend a lot of money they don't do anything that this setup can't.
