AS Level Exams

Had my Maths AS level exam today and my god it was hard. I cruised through the first half but then when they dished out the second paper it went way way downhill. Was hoping for an A but looks more like a B now, and i'd have to shoot myself if i got a C to be quite honest (looks like i'll need a gun.)

Anybody else have the exam today?

Got Chemistry tomorrow aswell, going to be even worse.

Two A2 Geography exams next week, and C2 the Monday after that. Good luck everyone.

Has anyone got university places riding on these results?

I've been having my gcse's. I know it's a level below you guys but the higher maths this year was :|. First half was a breeze but after that it might have well have been written in Swedish.

All my other exams have gone pretty well...

I did Chem Unit 2 and a resit of Unit 1... Unit 2 was fine but I didnt have time to revise for the retake so... yeah it was a bit awful. Waste of 20 to resit it methinks.
Had three History exams today aswell. Was a most hellish day. Also managed to be late for the Chemistry exam, along with only starting revision for Chem and History yesterday (stupid, I know) so I was up to about 3 and then got up at 6am to revise the polymer stuff.

But they're over now!!

Now I just await the results with dread...

That happened last year too with my Maths GCSE.. the non calc was great, but then the calculator paper was pure evil. I must have left over half blank. Still got a B though.. only needed like 20% or so.

Lol you're joking, right? I took the maths a year early (i'm in year 10), and it was a bloody joke. I mean, the first half, what the hell was that about? That was like SATs level stuff. Got the calculator paper next week and i normally tend to do better in that, so i think its safe to say the A*'s in the bag. Next year we begin the A-level course.

Yup, you got us, it's clearly madness for anyone to find the Higher Tier Maths paper a bit difficult. And you're no shrinking violet ay ;)

Not all of us are Maths geniuses.. I for one am a thicko in that department.

Haha. Na, i'm not that good at maths, well, not compared to some of the kids in my year anyway. I'm only in the second of five maths sets (the top two of which do the GCSE a year early), and some of the kids in the top set are like woah, 98% all the way.

We did a mock exam using last year's paper and jeeze was the non calculator bit of that hard. I think the pass mark for the A* was like 62% or something because everyone did so badly. This year though they seem to have swung in the opposite direction by making the paper exceedingly easy.

I thought the calculator paper was the harder one... but perhaps I've forgotten now. I remember absolutely everyone finding one of the two papers immensely hard.
Haha I'm guessing you go to a very high achieving school (*cough* private? :D).. I was in the second group out of five in my year and we were only expected to get A/B grades, taking two years.

So these are like the end of high school exams or something (coming from an Australian who doesn't know)?

Just wait until university maths, it becomes stupidly hard. Enjoy and good luck :)

Yer, this is high school, or what we like to call secondary school. I took my maths exam almost a year early. For the rest of the school year we did stats and took an extra GCSE.

Well... AS exams are in the middle of Sixth Form.. which I guess is still High School since that goes on for two years longer than our secondary school?
