iRiver now has gapless....

Wow, gapless. Any crossfading? Is it real gapless, or does it have like a 1/20 second delay? Where can you get a h1xx? I heard that iriver stopped making them months ago.

I've always wanted a music player, minidisk or mp3 player toat has gapless shuffle.

The rest - Not

They did stop making them a while back, so the only place to find it is from old stock or on eBay.

I can't wait till Apple finally realises this feature is more important then anything else, then I'll think long and hard about switching back.

iPod Needs Gapless Playback especially for iPod Photo/iPod Regular and iPod Mini

Gapless playback is essential if you listen to music that was intended to be played back as a contiunuous track, such as dj mixes where the songs are tracked out.

sorry if some of you people don't understand the concept, but that's your own stupid fault. :p

I know it's a joke, but jeez.

Strangely a lot of the music I have which definitively needs gapless is for prematurely middle-aged guys looking at their navels and wondering where their life went...

...so I don't listen to it :p

Flexible hassle-free access to music and sound quality with premium headgear are things more important to me for example.

Yup, the gaps can be very irritating when listening to live music or DJ mixes of dub, electronica etc which are supposed to flow into each other. It's not the most important thing but since Apple generally pay so much attention to these kind of little details you'd expect them to have sorted it out by now.
