Itunes music isnt showing up on my Shuffle

Help! I have music that I downloaded through Itunes that isn't showing up on my Shuffle. I can see the music on my Itunes Playlist but it's not transferring over to my Ipod. Does anyone know how to fix this?? Thanks!!

On the Shuffle playlist in iTunes, is there a dot next to the song? Is the box checked?If you go to edit-preferences-ipod, what do you have checked off?

No, I don't see a dot, but all of the songs have a check mark in the box next to them.Under the iPod tab the following 3 boxes are checked:
Open iTunes when this iPod is attached
Keep this iPod in the source list
Only update checked songs

Don't plug in the shuffle. Drag the songs into the shuffle playlist; they should now appear with a dot next to them. Plug in the shuffle, and they should sync.I'm talking about a windows machine; no experience with Mac.
