Help! Ive Maxed Out My 20g And Need More Room!
ok, im new here.
that said, ive maxed out my 20g ipod with songs, and want to by the 60g ipod photo replace my 20g, then sell the 20g.
now, here is my question, how can i do this?
will there be a problem in formatting the new ipod so itunes thinks its the old one? will there be a problem for the person who buys my 20g in formatting this one? essentially, i want the 60g to act EXACTLY the same as my old 20g, and then have the 20g act as a BRAND NEW(used) unit to sell to a friend.
I appreciate any help.

Easy as pie. mmmm...pie...
Anyway, all you need to do is format your new ipod for your computer when you get it, without replacing your itunes. Then, your ipod will automatically synch to your music library. You can then use the ipod updater to restore your 20 gb ipod so there is no music on it, then you can sell it to a friend.

easy as pie. mmmmmm.....what kind of pie? I want a piece too.
As stated above or you don't even have to format the 20gb ipod, you could sell it with the music on it commanding a higher price.
What I didn't just say that. Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

thanks guys,
when you say format the new one, should i format the new one with my old disc, or with the new one that comes with it?

Toothpaste..thats kind of...illegal
(I'd probably still do it though :-|)
Anyway, just update the firmware and put your music on, easy as that.
Who mentioned pie, what kind is it? I want some.

your new ipod will come with its own installl disc. you don't have to install itunes again, unless it's a newer version than what you have now. use the updater only to format, the initial install of itunes and new ipod willl do it for you.
Dismal I woulnd't recommend something bad:D just forgot to format:cool:
