getting music on Ipod with itunes and anapod...

So I just bought a a new ipod and im having some problems. Firstoff my computer hardrive is filled to capacity with music and I want to get all of that music onto my iPod and then off of my computer. However to do this through Itunes it has to copy all of the files from one location to the Itunes folder, and as I mentioned earlier my computer is filled to capacity with music and itunes isnt able to copy all of the music to the folder it needs to.

I want the music to be organized my artist and album as well too, and this creates another problem on the compilation cds I have on my computer, I would like these to be organized by album but not by artist as when I go into my iPod there will be artists with one song in their category. I also have about 174 totally unorganized songs that I would like to just keep all together and not have organized by artist and album. Is doing all of this possible on the iPod?

Another thing I would lie to know how to do is how to get songs off the iPod, taht has also been something I couldn't figure out.

I have also come across another program called anapod. Is this any better than Itunes?

Thanks to anyone that helps me out it is very much appreciated.

If I understand your problem correctly, when you are trying to import your music collection into itunes, itunes is attempting to create dual copies of the music, which you can't do because your HDD is full, correct? If this is the case, there is an option in itunes in which you can disable creating a second copy, keep all of your music in the same folder, and simply change the format to AAC rather than mp3. I'm not quite sure the steps to take, as I'm at a work computer, but I'll report back later if you haven't figured it out for yourself.

I should'nt have posted these questions until I looked around the forum. Most of my questions have been answered just by looking around on the forums.

The only questions I have left is whether or not Anapod is better than itunes and I know about the option for compiliation cd's when you are ripping them to the computer but waht about when the compiliation cd is on your hdd?

Also I have 174 songs that I would like to have in a playlist only on the ipod. I don't want them to be under the artist and album categories on my ipod just under the one playlist, is this possible? If not how could I organize the songs so that they would be under the same artist and album? Would I just put them all in a folder and name the folder what I want? I can't figure out a way to do this...

Thanks alot...

Oh and how do you delete music off of the iPod. The only way I know is to reformat it and that's what I've been doing. Would deleting music from itunes and then updating the ipod delete the music off?

Oh and is it possible to overcharge your ipod? Would it be harmful to leave it charging overnight too long?

thanks
