Perhaps a sign of things to come?

So, through my weekly perusing of apple's site, I noticed that under the refurb. section, they have begun selling refurb. 20 gb ipods for $249. The only times I have seen them do this is within a short time period of when they put new items up for sale. I've seen it with the 3rd gen, photos, minis, and now these. Perhaps the new ipods will be arriving soon...just wondering if you all shared the same insights.

I'm not so sure. I'd like you to be right but I can only refer to my own experiences. When I was buying my iPod in Sep' 04 I almost plumped for a refurbished one. These were 4G models, which is what I was buying anyway. As you know, they haven't upgraded that particular line yet.

You could be right though.

my observational skills say that usually when they offer refurbished models they dont have a picture..just an open box, but this actualy has a picture. And, they are selling 1 gen minis too! I was wondering when they would start doing that again. One of my friends picked one up on clearance for 169 when the 2 gen first came out.

You know what's also weird is they are selling 3gen 40gb ipods again, I didn't notice that on my first readthrough.

eh. They're clearing out stock. Don't read too far into it. Don't forget, even if they do replace the 4G soon, there are still millions of 4G ipods out there that will break that will need to be exchanged for refurbished ones. There's really no reason apple needs to dump their stock of refurbished 4g ipods right away when they release the 5g.

Yes, I know that well, but it's what they did with all the rest, as I stated. Just an observation, nothing more. I'm not reading into it anymore than I should. rofl.
