New Boy with question
Hi
I have got 3000 songs on an emac and an iPod 40GB Photo arriving tomorrow. About how long will it take to transfer the songs from Mac to iPod?
Anything else I should be really wary of?

It might take a while like maybe 5 min or something. I was surprised to see how fast the transfer was. I used the usb, and i think it might even go faster with firewire, but i am really not sure of that

Welcome to the iPodlounge Forums!
If you have a Firewire cable and a Firewire slot, use the Firewire for such an amount of music. Firewire is still faster than ANY USB port.
With Firewire, it shouldn't take long at all.
With USB 2.0, it will be slightly longer, but not very long either.
With USB 1.1, not reccomended to transfer such an amount of music all in one go, as it CAN cause the iPod to overheat.
