Advice , help , anxiety

1st i have a 10 gb gen2 ipod. after i converted my minpod into a winpod my ipod has been displaying incorrect hard drive capacity. i have 9.2 gigs of original capacity and after loading 4 gigs of tracks it still displays 9.2 gigs. itunes displays the correct capacity and all my tracks work fine. is there a way i can fix this will it have a negative affect on my ipod or will this not affect my ipod and should i just leave it alone. i updated my ipod w/ updater 1.3 for windows.

2nd does updating/ converting your ipod kill your ipod ? has anyone encountered any major problems after converting their ipods from mac to win . should i be worried? i heard converting will void yur warranty.

1. This has been a bug in iPod for quite some time. Seems to only effect WiPods. Basically, just ignore it and use iTunes to let you know how much space you have left.

2. No, no ill effects at all. Here's the deal on why Apple can't claim that it voids your warrenty. With the release of the 3rd Gen iPods, Apple got rid of the WiPod/MiPod distinction. They only made one kind. In fact though, all iPods now, come as MiPods (they are formatted to work w/Macs not Windows). Part of the setup process (if you're a windows user) involved converting the MiPod to a WiPod.

So, basically every iPod sold that is used on Windows is converted from a MiPod. No way can Apple claim you voided your warrenty if they are doing it on all iPods they sell now.

And seriously, this was never an issue at all. I bought my 1st gen in April 2002, and everyone in the Apple Store new what I was doing, new how I was using it, and treated me just like any other customer. When I had problems I took it in, and they gave me tech support.
