How do I run chdsk utility?

I'm getting an error message about a corrupt or unreadable database in my iPod. It says I should 'run chdsk utility', how do I do that?

if your computer detects the Ipod as another hard drive then right click, go properties>tools>error checking. As far as im aaware thats the same as chdsk as in "check disk". Try it if not i'm out im just using logicolimorgan at 2007-11-15 17:03:47 >

No need to do that (and Apple recommends against it).Just do a restore with the Updater. This will reformat the drive, fixing any problems and give you a nice clean iPod database.
You'll need to reupload your tunes after that, but it won't take that long and it's a good idea to to this once every couple of months.
