ipod isnt charing for all 4 hours??

ok so i've been experiencing and complaining about the decrease in battery time w/ the 2.1 firmware. so i charge my battery tonite via the firewire port on my PC. stick in the connector and then eject it from itunes (so the HD isnt always spinning). i remember plugging it in @ 9pm. its now 11:55 PM and the charging battery indicator has stopped moving!! anyone else seeing this?

it doesn?t nec. charge for 4 hrs. it charges until it?s full. if you unplug and replug it the battery indicator will start moving again, but only for a short while.

You said that it stopped moving, but does it say "charged" at the top, or is it frozen, and still says "charging?"

in earlier firmware versions it used to say charged in the middle of the screen (under the big battery symbol). i haven?t paid attention to it with the newest firmware. i?ll let it charge and let you know later.

another thing, with 2.1 it never says "charging" for me. the battery indicator at the top right just keeps moving.

edit: the battery indicator just stops moving. it doesn?t say charged. the lightning symbol remains at the base of the battery indicator (minus pole).

Huh, on mine, it says charging when it's charging, and charged when it's done.

it depends on which firmware you?re using. with firmware version 2.1 (the newest for 3rd gen. ipods) it doesn?t say charged anymore (at least not for me).
