Wont update firmware

I d/l the new updater from apple and it says "iPod service error." when i try to update. I have a 3G 15gb iPod. I have tried to update with EphPod too, no luck. What am i doing wrong?

You need to make sure that you don't have any aintivirus programs or firewall programs, or bassicly any programs which are accessing your disk. Then try again.
