Battery meter not updating right away?
I left my iPod charging over night, a good 8 hours. In the morning, it was still at the point where I left it, which really worried me. 5 minutes later, I look down, and it's about half-filled. A few minutes later, it's fully filled. From there, it then went incrementally down as I used it, as it should.
Anyone else experience this? For whatever reason, the software doesn't read the battery charge change right away or w/e, or for whatever reason doesn't update the display. The real weird thing is that it not only takes awhile to recognize it, but that once it notices the change, it doesn't update fully, it only slightly fixes the problem, goes back, fixes some more, etc. Know what I mean?

I noticed something very very similar to this,. I updated mine to 2.1 last night, left it charging over night, switched it on this morning and noticed what you described, although i can't remember if it went all the way up in one go or not.

I had the exact same problem, when I updated the firmware, at first I didn't think my ipod charged at all, but it slowly crept up to almost full I believe.
However, it doesn seem like my battery does get used up a bit faster since updating the firmware, but I can't say for complete certainty since I am also using the griffin Itrip with it...I don't know how much power it truly draws from the ipod battery to power.

Neo its totally normal, the battery actually goes up to full in a couple of minutes. After that, it'll look as though the battery drains quickly, but it doesnt really. Used it once till the battery meter was empty- it was still working fine tho

I'm confused. I had the same problem... charged it with the ac adapter last night and the battery meter didn't go up at all.
It also runs out after only about 2 hours of usage and I'm getting really annoyed. Anyone experience this? I have never let it die, I usually just stop using it and charge.

I thought my battery was faulty coz the meter goes down quickly on usage. I was sure that it doesnt last for 8 hrs n that it drains the next day after charging overnight. So i spoke to apple about it n they asked me to do this:
- charge it to full, then play n repeat 1 song- leave it on n see if it lasts 8 hrs
- if it doesnt, reset ur ipod, n re-install the whole thing again to yr comp (although im not sure how this help)
- if u still dont get 8 hrs from it, contact apple n get it repaired!
i tried it n i got 7 hrs from it. i still havent tried what apple suggested though but will do so soon.
hope this helps
