How to Kill the battery?
When I bought my iPod, the Apple guy said 2 things about the battery... First, he said that I should drain my battery each time.
I've since read that iPod batteries don't have a memory, so it's not really nessasary, I do anyway.
My question has to do with the second commnet the Apple guy said... He said that there was actually a way to kill the battery from the iPod.
I have yet to find that feature. Do you think it's a Mac only feature? Or is it possibly in iTunes?

What do u mean by "Kill"? discharge? destroy?
Well if its discharge, as far as i know there isn't a feature on the PC or Mac version, and there's no need for it. Its a Lithium Ion Battery, u can charge it whenever u want, its doens't have that "memory effect" that NiCd has.

yeah - by "kill" - i mean run down the battery.
I'll ask that guy what he meant - cause I haven't seen any option like that.

It seems to me that most Apple so called "help" people don't have the first idea.

My tip would be to ignore everything this guy had to say. Apple must have some intense hiring process by which they go after those individuals that know nothing at all about their products.

I've seen some of the most lame quotes posted here from Apple Store personnel and from Apple help desk folks.
True, mostly related to Windows issues, but the bottom line is don't trust Apple to be able to tell you anything about how your PC works.

The last post sums it up.
Apple Help => Mac only => Good
Apple Help => PC => Pure Guesses

He must of meant "hit the play button". That kills the battery for me right away! ;)

I went into the Apple Store here in Houston... and they hadn't heard of such a thing either.
They did show me how to go into the "back screen" to preform diagnostics and such. They said that I could run the scan disc a few times and that would kill the battery quicker than just playing the iPod, but they didn't recomend that I do that very often.
So I'll just play and enjoy my iPod until it get's low and charge it up as I have been doing.
Thanks for the help guys.
