Please help. iTunes killed my poor iPod:(
I am SO sad. I've used Xplay ever since I got my 2nd gen 20GB iPod. So I decide to download good ol' iTunes for windows the other day. I hooked up my iPod to computer today and I had iTunes to boot on connection.
And then it changed a ton of my music files names! For instance, the cds that have the main artist singing with some guest artist, I edited with Xplay to make it the main artist only (thus only one artist so scroll through). Now i have a million artists again.
Worse off, Xplay doesnt even work anymore! When I click on my music folder after I open Xplay, it's just a blank screen...No folders anymore!!!!
Anybody have this problem? Moreover can anybody help me!:( I have about 3700 songs and I don't store my songs on my hard drive after I put them on my iPod... Uploading and carefully (anally) editing my music files has taken me hours.
PLEASE HELP:( I feel like crying. (I know..I need to get a life, but this is sad man.)

Plus never use your ipod as a backup for any files and I do mean for any files.
Why do you say that? It seems that it shouldn't be a problem to backup files to it.
Sure, you might need to "restore" your iPod at some point, but most of the time, I've still been able to access files on it.
Just curious, because I was thinking of doing just that. For an extra backup.

Hi - xplay wont work because iTunes by default switches off other music transfer programs. I dont know if its possible to get them to play nicely together either, perhaps someone here using xplay can help?
Otherwise in the itunes options there is an option to allow itunes to automatically manage your songs on the hard disk. Id recommend turning this off and doing it manually, that should stop itunes from changing your folders etc around I believe
