I've noticed my Widows iPod doesn't charge in the dock when the screen reads, "Safe to remove", etc. At least, not while the dock is plugged into my Adaptec Firewire PCI card in my PC. If I plug the dock into the wall, works fine. While plugged into the PC, the little battery icon pulsates as if it is charging, but it actually doesn't. I left my nearly drained iPod on my dock, in its "Safe to remove" mode, for two days...and it was still at near drained status.
