How to copy from an existing MP3 player to my ipod ???

I have a Dension 80GB MP3 player in my car. This operates like a hard-drive and I add songs to it using Musicmatch Jukebox. I am not very technical and was wondering how I could copy stuff from this to my new ipod. Can I use windows explorer and just cut and paste? I only have a 9 GB laptop but have recently bought another hard-drive (80GB) to compliment it. I don't really want to have to re-load every CD on individually. The MP3 shows the music files as MP3 files and I use Windows XP as my operating system. I don't have a firewire but have a USB 2 card. Any help would be much appreciated.

are you using gen3 ipod with usb cable (optional)?

if windows xp treats your mp3 player as another harddrive, i believe you can either use ephpod or itunes to transfer mp3s into ipod, after adding them into the library

Not sure how the songs are stored on the mp3 player. If you connect that player to your PC, does it show up as just another hard drive? If so, browse it, copy the files from it to your PC, then import the files into iTunes and sync them w/your iPod.

Thanks. It shows us another hard-drive and stores the files the same way as within Windows Explorer. I am also having trouble getting my CDs recognised within itunes. Are there any places which give a very basic step-by-step guide as to how to do all this?
