Ipod not recogn. No icon. Please Help
At this point I am at a loss. My Ipod worked for 3 or 4 months then out of no where one day just stopped. It is not showing up in the bottom corner. Only green hardware icon. No Ipod icon. But it is listed as Apple Ipod in My Computer. I can't even open Ipod manager or Update. Makes no sense I took it to CompUSA and the showed me it worked. I sent it back to Apple they said it was fine, I called and they say unless I pay they cannot give tech support after 3 months. Thats crap these are expensive. I have Windows Me and a 3yr old HP. Please help me anyone. I'm out of options.

do you have the newest firmware (2.1)? you don?t need the ipod manager anymore. in fact i think it?s disabled now, since apple have introduced itunes for windows (which does everything the manager did). if your ipod is recognised by your computer (hardware icon...) you shouldn?t be having any problems. which program do you use to sync? maybe try downloading the newest firmware again, and restore your ipod (make sure you have copies of your music on your computer). then use ephpod, itunes, mc9 or whichever other program of your choice to sync.

I can't get the firmware 2.1 because I only have Win ME and I can't load itunes either because I have me. I don't have a firewall installed to the best of my knowledge I do have Macfee. Should I turn it off?
