Itunes Disaster... HELP!
Recently spent AGES organising my mp3?s into a lovingly crafted folder structure i.e artist folders containing relevant album folders with ALL album art e.t.c.Awaiting my new IPOD. While using itunes (which I really like) I mistakenly confirmed a request by itunes to ?Organise? my collection?. Upon doing this the #### thing sucked all my mp3?s out of their folders and dropped them in it?s own folder structure relating to the id3 tags from the files themselves?. DISASTER?.
Now, has anyone any ?itunes techniques? to undo this? Or any bright ideas/software I could use to resolve this
Thanks in advance!

Sorry to say, but I don't think there's any way to actually undo the organizing, as the original file/folder data was most likely lost in the process.
But I myself am very happy with the folder structure created by iTunes, as my collection was pretty chaotic before switching to iTunes. Now my tunes are neatly organised by artist, with each album as a seprate subfolder. And I'm really happy I don't have to edit the tags and file structure manually separately..
What is it exactly you dislike about the new folder structure? Could it be fixed by simply fixing the id3-tags in iTunes?

basically... the problem is that where i had an album by artist X, on sum of the tracks Artist Y might feature aswell, itunes then gives one folder for Artist X AND one folder for artists X & Y, splitting the album between the 2 folders. If i could sort the folders by album it'd be sorted.. the more i think about this i MUST be able to do this...

Do this.
In the iTunes window search for your albums that have multiple artists. Select all the files on the album and right click and get info. Now find the "part of compilation" selection. Select it and say yes. This will put this album into it's own album folder within a folder called compilation. Repeat for each album like this and done.
Cheers,
