whats your transfer rate?
I have a 40 gig iPod, I bought a USB2 card, (I know stupid not to get firewire) and I'm only getting .7meg/second transfer rates. Curious if this is right, what are other people getting, and what are you using (USB2, firewire, USB1)?

Sounds like USB1.1 to me... So something is probably wrong.
Reinstall the drivers or something.

i get 6 mb/s max, 4 mb/s min.
I dont really check, I just drag n' drop the folder, and let it ride.

I'm using a(n alleged) USB2.0 pcmcia card for my laptop, and I get, with EphPod2.70, transfer rates of 1.0M/s from the CD and about 2.0M/s from my hard drive (which is too low, even for a usb 2.0 card, according to what I've read here)
When I check the component properties, the ipod appears to be connected through the usb 2.0 hub.
I've noticed that there is a 'enable write cache' checkbox for the ipod - would it make a difference if I checked it?

Depends how much im uploading , i find it takes a while to get to full speed. At max i get around 6 mbps and as low as 3 mbps for small uploads.

A small question - what are the units used by ephpod for the upload rate indicator? M-megabit? M-megabyte?

Hmmm. curious and curiouser. If my computer reports the iPod as "found a usb 2.0 device" / "usb mass storage device" -- does that mean that the connection is along the usb 2.0 specs?
