Why I am starting to hate my IPOD!

All right...where to start...
I have had my Ipod for about 4 months now. And despite the initial time it took to save 200 CDs to my hard drive and then download then to the Ipod, everything seemed pretty cool.
Now Apple coms out with the new 2.0 updater and Itunes for windows.
Here's where the fun begins...
I loaded the updater after hearing that the battery indicater was improved. Now it takes over 8 hours for the battery to say it is charged, and then I turn it on and the battery meter shows the equivelant of one bar...so I plug it in and recharge again...I have gotten it to finally show just above half power, and am feeling grateful for that!!!
I connected to Itunes, and tried to import a new CD(which didn't work correctly, but I am hoping to find some support in their help for that one) and now my Ipod seems to enjoy freezing up on me so that I have to reset it often. I think Apple created a new A.I. in the 2.0 firmware, and I must have ####ed it off, cause it definitely doesn't like me. Anyone have any ideas?

The battery problem is a problem with the meter, not a physical problem with the battery. there is a thread somewhere in the forums about it. But try restarting your Pod.

(hold down menu and play/pause buttons until the screen goes blank.)

The battery meter should reset itself.

I am a new ipod user and I have to say my first impression of this device is that it is a well designed, beatuifuuly crafted music player (and more). After going through two firewire cards in my laptop finally finding one with enough balls to power the ipod I have to say that Apple need to sort out this battery or power meter issue out as it lets down the rest of this great device. I have, like many here, charged my ipod overnight only to find either one bar when it says fully charged or the power meter going to nothing after about 20 mins of play. The ipod still plays ok even when the meter reaches zero so what is the use in having a power indicator that always shows zero. SORT IT OUT APPLE and soon.

Those of us who own or had 2nd gen ipods sufferd the same thing a firware upgrade fixed ours. I'm sure if apple is aware of the bug, they'll fix it as well.

I have no doubt that this will be fixed by a firmware upgrade but I get very short on patience when basics like power indication are not sorted before release, obscure problems are one thing but simple stuff should be working before the produt is sent to market.
