How long does USB2 synching take?

Hi there,
Am just about to buy an iPod but don't have a Firewire card on my PC. How long does it take to copy approx. 30gb across to an iPod via USB2 cable?

Pretty much the same time as firewire, the speed of the connection is not the bottleneck, the iPod is.

So instead of buying a USB2 cable from Apple, buy a firewire card so you can charge the iPod when its connected.

Indeed it does. Where from Australia are you from?

Also, find a student to buy the iPod (if your not one), because you get a student discount if you buy from Apple.

In Melbourne, but just moved down from Sydney a few months ago.

I have a mate who works for Optus and he gets 10% discount, so will probably be getting it through him...

Too bad they aren't going to this years BDO, did you see them last year (well early this year), it was so good. I hadn't heard of them before that, and next thing you know I'm in the moshpit getting crushed!

I certainly did see them, we were probably at the same gig! Have been a fan since Around the Fur came out... Was a bit disappointed they didn't play any new songs at the last gig but can understand why they didn't (had worries about bootleggers putting stuff online apparently)

Can't wait for the Team Sleep album either :)

Team Sleep?? What is this? Another album of theirs?

I absolutely have to see passenger live before I die, Maynard and all. They did it in America a couple months back. If I had a job, I would have flown over there just for that song!

Team Sleep is a side project of Chino's with a few other folk. It's kinda a poppier Deftones, White Pony type stuff.

As far as I know they've only really put one track out there as a demo some time ago, and recently one song on the last Matrix soundtrack. However here's a lot of other songs floating around on Kazaa which people have just renamed as Team Sleep songs but are by other bands entirely..

I think the album comes out really soon at any rate.
