Running out of space on my C drive...

I just got my 20 gig i-pod a couple days ago and it's working great. In fact, I've already put about 1400 songs in it. M

y problem: The MusicMatch software resides on my C-drive, which is quickly running out of discspace. Is there anyway to designate that MusicMatch save the mp3s in a folder on my D drive (which has about 60 gig of free space) and keep the MusicMatch software on my C drive? Would I have to reinstall MusicMatch on my D drive (and is this even possible)? Is there another solution? Help! I have about300 meg left on my C drive and about 250 CDs to go!

Yes you can do this. Just move your music to your D: drive and when you go to load songs, you can pick the folder where you get the songs from.

Will it prompt me for a drive when I click on the MusicMatch autosync feature or will I now have to add the songs to my i-pod manual (not using the sync feature)?

It might ask you for a drive. I've never used the sync. But then again it might automatically do it since MM will already know the path. Try it out and let us know.

I'll try it over lunch. My history with MM is that it is automatically configured to look at the "My Music" folder in the "documents" folder on the C drive. If I started storing my music library on my D drive, I assume I'd have to be able to point the sync tool to this new D drive folder -- hopefully there's a way to do this in the MM options set up, though I haven't been able to find it.

All right, so here's what I tried over lunch.

I created a new folder on my computer's "D" drive called "mymusic". I went into MusicMatch, selected an option from the drop-down menu called WatchFolder (or maybe it's FolderWatch, I don't remember) and added the D:/mymusic folder to the list of folders to scan for new music. I then ripped a new album using MusicMatch, copied the album over to my D:/mymusic folder, deleted it from my C drive, synced, and the album made it onto my i-pod. That said, tonight I'll move all my C-drive artist folders over to my D:/mymusic folder, then delete them off my C-drive. In the future, I'll rip my CDs and move the files from the C: folder to the D: folder and sync.

Now I'm curious if there's a way to make MusicMatch rip and save directly to the D:/mymusic folder so I don't have to copy and delete the files from my C: drive...

Yes there is a way to do that, but it's been s long since i've used MM that I don't exactly remember.
