ok I have a compaq presario 2700t laptop with a 4 wire firewire (tiny firewire port). I know the 40g 3g unit I bought has the adapter to run with my small firewire port but the lil port has no juice running thru it... so thats my dilema ... that is I am forced to always plug and unplug the ipod from computer to wall for juice . so I say to myself there must be another way around this issue (as I am laying on my back under my desk with my head pinned between the wall and my desk and floor trying to plug in) . so I started looking at pcmcia firewire cards that have full sized (with juice / elextricity) 6 wire or what ever firewire plugs. thats really my prob. some require an external power source, some do not, some apparently have differing voltages? etc. so I need a hot pcmcia firewire card (full sized firewire plug) that will help me STOP THE INSANITY of plugging from my WIN XP home 1.2ghz 512mb into the wall and back.

any suggestions on this issue..? or if no pcmcia go, how about a 4 wire firewire out to some sort of firewire hub with power source maybe? ah. hmm. thnx in advance
