oooh look a new problem

Well I've had a look and I can't see anyone with this one. 40gb ipod, Windows 2000, 2.1 upgrade on ipod.

First of all MMJB can't find the ipod at all and its web upgrader doesn't have one listed.

So I try Itunes. All goes well for a few tracks then I get this:

"The drive is not ready for use; its door maybe open. Please check drive F (the ipod) and make sure that a disk is inserted and that the door is closed"

Itunes then hangs up and I have to disconnect the ipod (even when it says I shouldn't) to get the PC working again.

Any ideas? Any help really appreciated, marriage now suffering from grif of it all and I'm very near to making the ipod the worlds most expensive doorstop at this rate.

Thanks in advance.

I'm having the exact same problem. I posted asking what was wrong yesterday but no one helped. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong?

WhatIsWrong:

Are you on 2K as well? I believe this is a problem strictly related to 2K....

Nope, I'm on Windows XP with a Dell.

My brother picked up an iPod yesterday and it works perfectly with iTunes. I can't figure out why mines not working, I've tried everything.

Now I'm starting to wonder if I should call apple and use my 1 year warranty. This would be covered right?

Thanks again,
Dan

Doubt it. This is most likely a PC Configuration issue, not an iPod issue...I just can't remember how it was solved and can't find the thread on it.

Might do a search for "door". Be sure to increase the number of days to search to 250 or so.
