Playable audio types.

I just downloaded iTunes and am really considering buying an iPod. I am about to rip all of my CDs, about 200, onto my computer with plans to put them onto the iPod. What media types can be played on the iPod. I know mp3 can but I think that AAC is a better quality. Can I rip all my CD's in AAC format and then put them onto the iPod?

Yeah, it can play AAC, WAV or MP3.

I would do it in MP3, preferably >192kpbs. I assume 10 people will post below me, driven by marketing, saying that AAC is the be-all and end all. The iPod exits the market (very worst case scenario), your entire collection can not be played at all, your screwed. MP3 has wide support and will not go away.

But then again, its your choice.
