Updating firmware with USB1.1

I have downloaded the 2.1 firmware update onto a PC which only has USB1.1. (My normal PC is out of operation. )

Anyone know the chances of being able to apply this update to my Ipod on this PC ? Anything else i need to consider ?

Do i need to install Ipod manager as well on this PC ?
