software that works with WMP
I'm looking for some software to sync my ipod that can transfer windows media player playlists. Something that integrates nicely with WMP would be good too. Anyone know of software that fits the bill?

that's annoying. I really want to be able to sync WMP smart playlists with the ipod.

Xplay integrates with WMP. However, iTunes has smart playlists as well, and they are dynamic, meaning they update on the iPod w/o a sync
Might want to try that first.

Can you put songs on your iPod from Windows Media Player?
# 5 Re: software that works with WMP
Yup. You'll need XPlay (www.mediafour.com/products/xplay) to do it, though. XPlay comes with a very slick plugin for Windows Media Player, which will allow you to upload to your iPod via WMP's "Copy to CD or Device" page.
It will also allow you to synchronize your iPod with your WMP playlists and WMP9 smart playlists. If you love WMP and don't want to stop using it, XPlay is worth the money.

I have, and the less said about it the better.
iPod is currently being sent back to apple for repair after ITfW crashed mid-sync and caused a fatal windows error and now the ipod will not boot and cannot connect to a computer (have tried both mac and pc).
I might also add that it took me 2 hours to recover my pc from the crash.
So no, I don't think I'll be using iTunes...

I do really want to use ITfW because it has some very nice integration features, think I'll wait for a future version when apple have managed to produce some stable software.

for me is stable enough.. on both platforms.

I'm going to merge this thread into the other XPlay/Windows Media Player thread.
