Ipod software installed and talks to PC but cant sync or download

I just got the latest and greatest 10GB iPod.
Although MMJB sees the iPod, whenever I download a song or sync my playlist, it says "synchronizing ... please wait" and then "complete" but then I see no songs on the iPod. I can copy files in the disk mode feature, but I can't move sync any music to it. Notice how after the sync operation the space indicates that nothing has been copied.

Just to get you going try downloading ephpod ( http://www.ephod.com) and upload files that way.

At least this way you'll be able to get some tunes on that thing.
