Newbie Qs!
Hi all!
I'm waiting for my 3G 20gb Ipod to arrive. Can't wait!
Some Q's:
1. I'm on windows and have to buy a firewire card. Will any firewire card do the trick or does it have to be a special type?
2. What restrictions are there on Ipod? Can I copy files from any computer to my Ipod and from the Ipod to any computer? If not, are there any patches for this?
3. What software do I need? From browsing the forum I guess Ephpod is the best alternative for a Wipoder like me. Can it rip from cd's aswell?
Thanks!:D

1. Not all firewire cards are created equal. The consensus for the best firewire card is the Adaptec 4300. Whatever you get, make sure it's 6pin so it's powered...
2. It depends on the software you use. Ephpod, MC9, and Xplay for example, allow for this.
3. Ephpod strictly synchs, it doesn't rip. The best overall software IMHO that is an all in one--ripper/encoder, burner, synchs, etc. is Media Center 9 (MC9).

Can you tell me where I can download or buy MC9 because when I search Media Center 9 comes up with loads of different results.
I've found this:
http://www.musicex.com/mediacenter/
Is that the right one??

Yes, that's the right one.

When I purchase MC9 is a CD mailed to me or can I download it?
Hopefully I can download it because I live in the UK and I have deleted MusicMatch (the iPOD CD is about 400 miles from here because I'm at University). And the free 30 day trial is going to run out pretty soon.
