My iPod database is confused

When I play a song a totally different song is played, it's the same for every song.

It's not totally random, each song will always play the same wrong song.

My iPod is a 20gb V3 bundled with the dock conencted through
USB1 on WinXP SP1 and with 8.2.7 of Anapod. Any help would be
appreciated.

I have heard this before. This is becoming common with the 3rd gens. I still have not heard what is causing this problem. I don't think anyone knows yet. What program are you using to upload your music?

I was hoping it was to do with Anapod - the problem started when I used 8.2.6 - I have now updated to 8.2.7 and the my newest tracks are fine.

I don't suppose there is anyway to fix it other than starting over from a clean iPod is there?

Sorry I didn't know what Anapod was. This is most likely your problem then. But I am not familiar with anapod so I cannot confirm.

It seems far and away the best, most functional Windows client. The version that caused the problem was only out for a day. So I'm guessing they realised the problem and fixed it asap.

$15 will get you lifetime updates and upgrades.

Oh, I've restored it now, bought a firewire card earlier so I'm not too bothered, only took about 15 mins rather than the 2 or so hours it took on usb1
