Do Not Disconnect Problems...

Did a search, and seems like people are having an 'okay to disconnect' problem, but I just got a:

"Do Not Disconnect" Problem.

I was transferring files from one computer to another using the iPod (15gig) (both using the same firewire card, ST Labs, which has worked for me since the early days when I had my old 5gigger).

Odd thing today was that after I did the whole safely disconnect device from windows, my iPod remained to have that 'Do Not Disconnect' screen for a couple of minutes. I rebooted my computer, and my iPod still had that 'Do not disconnect' screen.

Anyways, I disconnected it (with that screen still on the iPod), and have tried everything to reset it: holding the buttons, connecting it to the wall outlet, back to the computer, etc... It's been like this for 5+hours now!

Im going to let the battery drain and hopefully it will reset, but in case it doesnt, anyone encountered this problem (and any tips to resolve it)?

Have you tried forced firewire? Do a reset (if you can), then press the FF and REW buttons until it says OK to Disconnect. Then connect it and disconnect it normally. That should do it.

If you can't do the reset, just press the FF and REW buttons and that should do it as well.

Thanks for the tips, but I've tried all of that already.

Anyways, checked this morning and the iPod was turned off. Plugged it back to the wall charger and it reset itself. (good thing battery life on my iPod is so short:D .. j/k).
