How to extract audio from Video DVD ?

Hi,
I've more than 200 DVD and I want to know if there is a way where I can extract songs from this dvd and can store it on my iPod in mp3 format. My current config is Sony Vaio PC with DVD drive + 3G 40GB iPod.

The only why I can think of is the following:

1.) Rip DVD to Hard Drive-->Smart Ripper is a Good Program.
2.) Use DVD2AVI to rip out the Audio
3.) You now have one big WAV file that you can chop up and encode.

Check out www.doom9.net for more Info.

The Download section has both of the above programs. Both are Free.

Alternatively, you can record the DVD using a $30 Griffin iMic... or similar.

DVD2AVI will do the trick, just recompress it to MP3 or whatever to cutdown the size..

While browsing on Griffin's website I found

Pwerwave ( http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/powerwave/index.html) . Will this be answer to all audio capture needs for iPod ? Anyone here have any experience with this ?
