Love the improvements to mail. And I hate the current Finder so I'm looking forward to the new one.

They also added Apple Remote Desktop Client as standard in Panther. Thats kind of nice even though you still have to pay for the admin portion of it. Oh well, that means a lot less installing initially which is nice.

Expos? (http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/expose/) is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

FileVault (http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/filevault/) is a must for laptop users (no noticeable slow-down).

Disk journaling is enabled by default and even on my slow laptop hard drive there's no noticeable slow-down (in 10.2, ouch! (http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/sbbod.html)).

After using the brushed metal Finder for a few days I like it. There was too much blinding whiteness going on. Now there are clearer distinctions between the "data" and the application (Finder/Safari/etc.). (At least that's my opinion.)

By the way, you can press the toolbar button in the top-right corner of the Finder window and it reverts back to the old look.

I'm not really worried but I do hope that panther will work OK with my by-now archaic clamshell iBook running on 320 RAM 466 Mhz G3.

I dislike the current finder also... not that it isn't functional, but it is slow... When I restart into os 9, it is lightning fast... then jaguar is slower... i heard that it'll be faster than jaguar...

Oh, and didnt they "rebuild finder completely" with jaguar? Now everyone I talk to is saying that it is faster because they are doing it again??
