good classical music

what's some good classical music that you listen to?...i really like orchestras with choir's mixed into the songs, as well....tchaikovsky's 1812 overture if freaking amazing (my high school band is playing it)....one of the reasons i ask this is because i love to listen to classical music while i play games...(bf1942, etc.)...any reccomendations would be great!

Some decent classical tunes for game playing:

'O Fortuna' from Carmina Burana by Carl Orff
'Mars, the Bringer of War' from The Planets by Gustav Holst

Maybe:
'Danse Macabre' by Camille Saint-Saens
'Scheherezade' by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov
'Night on the Bare Mountain' by Modest Mussorgsky

Hope you're able to try/enjoy some of these.

There's obviously lots of great classical music, but among the most accessible, I'd recommend the following.

For sheer beauty and emotion try:

Barber's Adagio for Strings
Edward Elgar's 'Nimrod'
Gabriel Faur?'s 'Requiem'

For 'Rock' type energy and dynamics try

'Carmina Burana' by Carl Orff
'Romeo and Juliet' by Prokoviev
and Copeland, of course.

G.F. Handel's Julius Ceasar, preferably the Rene Jacobs recording.

vivaldi's four seasons
tchaikovsy's nutcracker suite
bach's brandenburg concertos
bizet's carmen

there is a barber's adagio that is also performed by brass, flute, clarinet, choral and strings. don't get that horrible dance monstrosity by william orbit (?) - he butchered it

O Mio Babbino Caro

great song to kill stuff to it's an aria so it's a specific kind of song from the opera (a solo in an opera) Gianni Schichi (I think you spell it like that)

Another good one is "La Gazza Ladra" but wait till later on in the song because the beginning kinda sux just keep listening it starts to get good. In english the song is called The Thieving Magpie, and opera by Rossini.
