If you haven't bought Jane's Addiction - Strays, buy it! Great album. Straight forward rock album with great songs and outstanding guitar work. You won't be dissapointed. The new Black Rebel Motercycle Club is also a great bet. Even though they're from California they sound very English.

See I can't vote cause there are three choices on there that I would take. Dave Matthews, Matchbox Twenty, and Switchfoot. They are all great. The others I would stay away from. Especially Dashboard. Blech. A Perfect Circle is also a good one and so is Jane's Addiction. Good choices guys.

Out of what you listed, I would say Dave Matthews - Some Devil.

Excellent CD. I was a little disappointed at first, but after a few more listens I absolutely love it now.

Jacko: I love the fact that you listed The Darkness but it definitely MUST have a disclaimer. Don't you think? That album might shock the poor guy right out of his clothes.

To bring everyone up to speed: The Darkness are pretty much IN YOUR FACE glam metal (complete with cheezy videos). Albeit well produced, well written, and of course...English.

My 3 favorite U2 albums: War, The Joshua Tree, All That You Can't Leave Behind. Under a Blood Red Sky gets an honorable mention for a live album.

I'd pick either Joshua Tree or ATYCLB. But really, you'll want them all, except maybe Pop.

gosh - that's a tough one... Joshua was my first, so it'll always have a special place... but I really dug "Rattle and Hum" and "Pop" - oh, and the new one "All That You Can't Leave Behind" is excellent

like Stinkied already mentioned, go metal

If you dig A perfect circle, go with TOOL. the album AEnima is going to be the best buy of the year, if you pick it up. The reason I'm saying this is because Maynard, the singer in APC is tool's frontman.

I love that Matchbox 20 cd. It does a great job of mixing some rock tracks with some talented jazz guitar riffs. Every song on that CD is a classic.

I'd also reccomend The Artist In the Ambulance - Thrice

If you want something fresh and great try The Mars Volta- De-loused in The Comatorium. The best portrayal of a week in a coma after shooting up rat poisin then suicide upon waking up ever. But dont take it the wrong way, its not like death rock or anything just a little spacy and the lyrics are out there. Download Inertiatic ESP, Cicatriz ESP, or Televators to see what theyre like.

# 16 Re: Which cd
Maroon 5 is the best of your given choices, which isnt saying much coz im getting tired of them from just radioplay. But i have a definite suggestion on what you should avoid. Hands down, Limp Bizkit's Results May Vary is the worst of the lot and should be avoided at all costs. This album is one steaming pile of dog turd. You have been warned.

# 17 Re: Which cd
Then again, what are you expecting when you're buying an album that says 'Limp Bizkit' on the cover?

# 18 Re: Which cd
Although I don't own Maroon 5's CD, they sound pretty good, so I voted for that one. Besides, one of my teachers old college roommates knows the drummer.

I picked other. The Darkness is pure in your face rock. Usually I don't "get into" new music but these boys blew me away. Forced me to go out and buy their album. The cheesy videos are something to behold however.
