iPod Dock Connector to FireWire and USB 2.0 cable

With this cable can you transfer using either the firewire or USB? I would think so, but what I've read about it they always say charging via the firewire and syncing via the USB. It would be nice to use either or for transfer.

Both plugs are fully functional.

You can use both for transfer (not at the same time), but charging while syncing is a little different. If use the firewire, it will charge and sync at the same time. If you use the USB, you have to plug the firewire plug into the iPod AC adapter to charge at the same time.
