i have a 10gb ipod. and i just wanted 2 know if i needed the dock ?

No you do not need the dock for the 10Gb ipod or any ipod for that matter. I take that your 10Gb is a 3rd Generation ipod with the touch buttons? The cable that came with your ipod plugs directly into the bottom of your ipod and also the same can be pluged in to the dock. The dock just provided upright plug and plag astheics. Although if you want a true line out with no volume adjustment that is provided on the back of teh dock.But to answer your question directly you will not need the dock to use your ipod 10Gb just use the provided cable.

No you dont need the dock at all. It is only for a line out jack and to make the ipod stand upright instead of laying down when charging/syncing.Nicholas at 2007-11-15 16:07:47 >
