Will iTrip work with iSkin?

Just got my iSkin for my iPod. I love it. Feels great.
But I was wondering if I get an iTrip, will it work if I keep the iSkin on my iPod?
Thanks.

I just got my iTrip last night...

It won't work with the iSkin on, I tried. The silicone is just too thick. The little electrical plug on the itrip won't seat correctly.

Does anyone have any mod ideas to make these two wonderful inventions work together??

EDIT: Not sure I want to continue cutting my iSkin all up...I did the Dock mod to it but I think cutting it for the iTrip would be a little extreme...

i would try cutting along the seam on the top of the iskin. the cut wont be too noticable and it should allow you to bend the silicone back enough to have the itrip fit correctly

I thought about that...just afraid of making more cuts.

This morning I got smart and decided to use the MaClear case that they sent me with the iSkin. I know it kinda sucks, but hey, at least it's some protection.

I had a pretty low charge on the Pod, so I stuck the Pod and iTrip into the MaClear case upside-down, and I was able to connect my car charger to the dock connector sticking out the zippered end.

Not an ideal setup, but hey it worked. And the iTrip...WOW. I don't know how I lived without it!!!!

Thanks for everyone's responses to my initial question...

As an update after reading your posts, I went to go look for an iTrip but came up empty. Instead, I purchased a Belkin transmitter.

It costs less than the iTrip and I didn't have to cut up my iSkin. The reception is remarkably good @ 88.5 FM. No whining, static or any interference that I can detect in the car. Sound quality is fine (about as good or a bit better than clean FM reception.)

So, I'm a happy camper. I just have to remember to have a coupla spare AAA batteries for the transmitter.

Thanks again. And if I can help answer any questions let me know.

Glad you made a decision. I have an iRock FM transmitter that only lets you choose between 88.1, 88.3, 88.5 and 88.7. In the Virginia Beach area, there are church/gospel stations on all of those frequencies. The iRock basically sucked, so when I found out the Belkin transmitter was basically the same thing, I stayed away and got an iTrip.

I did finally get fed up last night and chopped up the iSkin to fit the iTrip. I cut a rectangle in the top that perfectly fits the iTrip. The nice thing about the iTrip is that it's rounded, so the contact area between the iTrip and the top of the iPod isn't as big as it looks.

I just got the itrip in the mail, and I think I am very dissapointed with it. The sound quality isn't as good as the older belkin tunecast, and there is that constant hiss in the background (yes, I know about the mono fix, but I like my stereo). For now, I am sticking with the belkin setup, but will keep the iTrip if they ever fix that problem.
