Received new iTrip 3 weeks ago (pictures/proof)
Hi everyone,
First time posting here, but I've been a regular visitor of iPodlounge since the 3G iPods came around. I had to sign up to post pictures to prove to Mr Strat that I did in fact receive the new iTrip weeks ago as I mentioned here:

I'm actually iPod-less right now since I returned my 15GB iPod to get a 20GB iPod. I literally purchased the 15GB two days before Apple announced the new models. On the bright side, I'll be receiving the 20GB within the next couple of days. Regardless, here are the high-res (1600x1200) pics I've temporarily uploaded to my webspace. Enjoy!

Not sure why I got it so early. Like I said in the comments, my friend just ordered 2 from Griffin and they shipped it overnight.

Yeah, I guess that pretty much did the trick. Hasn't anyone else threatened to cancel their order?

I haven't tested it since I'm iPod-less right now. My friend says that it works okay, but he picks up a lot of interference in heavy traffic. Oh yeah, he has a 2003 VW 20th anniversary GTi too if that matters. One other thing, don't expect to use it with an iSkin Exo on, because it doesn't fit. My friend cut out the top of his iSkin to make room for the iTrip.

I got an email from griffin today telling me that are still waiting to get the new iTrips. This has to be a Beta Version. The griffin peeps said the one on Ebay was a Beta Version.
This is all nuts!!!!!

UPS Tracking Number for the package. Received September 12, 2003. Click on "Details" to see that it originated from Nashville, TN and arrived in Vancouver, BC overnight.

Yeah, I noticed that too. The packaging on the back still shows the 2G iPod. Oh yeah, the LED is RED on the 3G iTrip, not blue. Also, regarding what was said on that eBay ad, it is exactly what my friend did. He was going to cancel his order, then Griffin replied, "if we ship one out for you tomorrow, do you want to keep your order?" My friend said yes and they shipped it out overnight.

The exact e-mail my friend received from Griffin is as follows:
"Hello,
If I can get one out for you by this Friday would you still like to keep the order?

Also, I bugged my friend and got him to take some pics of his iTrip with iSkin Exo on. It also shows that the 3G iTrip has a red LED, which isn't necessarily bad since it matches the red lighting behind the buttons. However, red LEDs cost only a fraction of what blue LEDs cost (10 cents compared to a couple of Canadian dollars). #### Griffin! :P It actually doesn't bother me much, since I think the LED looks better in this case, but I thought I'd just point that out.

Go nuts. I just got my iPod. :) Decided to get a 40GB instead of a 20GB, so that I can use it as a decent sized external HDD as well. $652 CAD before taxes!

Honestly...? It's awesome! I love it! I'm amazed how well it works and with pretty good distance too (up to about 30ft). I'm only using the default frequency (87.9) and haven't had any problems. Even in heavy traffic, I don't pick up any static or anything. (Car = 2000 Honda Civic SiR) Definately worth it IMO. Nice clean solution for your car and you can DJ music on radios too! For all of you that have been waiting so long, you won't be disappointed! (and NO, I'm not a pro-supported of Griffin! :P )

What did they charge you for shipping to Vanc? I'm kinda choking on a $22 shipping charge for a $35 product.
On the good side, its 20% cheaper than a year ago ..........grin.

They charged me $22 USD (ripoff I know), but I split it with my friend, since we ordered 2 iTrips together. Shipping for two is the same cost as shipping for one.

You can try waiting for the Apple Canada store to get them. I'm assuming it shouldn't be too long since the Apple US store already has it listed for awhile now. But then again, the Apple Canada store may never sell iTrips. :(

we have a B.MAC store downtown Montreal, it seem they carry lots of stuff for mac and ipod.. for those who are interested. too far from me thought.

I'm not too hopeful about a Canadian retailer.
I spoke with a Calgary Mac store on Friday, and he said they still hadn't had their order of SECOND GEN iTrips filled - let alone the new ones!
If anyone wants to go together on a package to Calgary - or nearby - I'm game.
FYI: Shipping for 2 iTrips = 22 USD$, for 3 iTrips $28 and so forth in increments of 4$US.
We would have to figure out the shipping inside Canada.
