Volume Leveling Faulty

Hi Guys,

I've been having issues with my volume leveling, and have followed all the instructions in "Replay Gain => Low Volume" forum posted in mid-Oct : I've analyzed all my audio, and make sure replay gain is checked and put it up to 12db, and then resync

Yet the volume was still really low, so I downloaded euPod VolumeBoost, and followed the instructions and used the program to increase volume 60% which they say is plenty. BUT only a few tracks have a normal to high volume, but 90% of my tracks are just as low as w/o using the euPOD volumeboost-although it says all 1200 files have been updated. What do you guys recommend I do?!?

Thanks guys and hope to hear from you soon,

~Adam

Just to add, I have a 3g 15gb ipod, using Win 2k, and build 9.1.291 of Media Center. Also downloaded most recent build of euPOD.

To be honest, I'd be tempted to use MP3Gain for your volume levelling needs. It analyses the tracks and saves the gain information to the tags of the MP3 files. You can also choose to do album gain so that tracks on an album stay at the same volume in relation to each other. I switch off any analyse audio options and replay gain in MC9 and use this.

Sorry if this isn't helpful :).

asg; If you updated with euPOD and 60% that should do a hell-a-lot diffrent on all tracks.

Im just guessing here that you had mc9 open when u ran the boost, and maybe mc9 then overwrote the boost when you quit it.

Try this; Close all programs that might be using your iPOD before you run euPOD.

If it says update 1200 songs, all songs are updated. (but if another program has the datrabase in memory, and overwrite the boost, none will have the boost.. u c ? )

Let me know if it works, if not,
feel free to mail me to espen@ringom.no and ill help you get it to work.

Still have not resolved the issue? Are there any senior members who would reply with possible suggestions. It'd certainly be appreciated. Thanks and hope to hear from someone soon.

If nothing else, you could always try iTunes's Sound Check.
Or download the latest build of MC9 ~ .300

I've pretty much converted back to iTunes for it's ease of use with the Pod.
