Getting Playlists from iPod?

Once again my iTunes database has become corrupt. iTunes refuses to open it, so I needed to delete it and start with a new file. Once I get back to where I was, I'm going to have to start backing the file regularly.

My music is all OK, so I re-imported them and it's all fine. The main thing I'm missing are my ratings and my playlists. I had several smart playlists that sorted my music by rating, so if I can pull my old playlists from my iPod, I may be OK.

I haven't plugged the iPod to the Mac since the database corruption, just to avoid any files on the iPod getting deleted or screwed up.

Does anybody know of any good software that will allow me to pull my playlists off of my iPod?

Thanks,
Rob

I found a few software packages that would do this for me, but none worked very well or were priced quite high. iPod.iTunes seemed to be pretty interesting, but at $40US, it was just to expensive...

I ended up writing an Applescript to transfer my ratings from my iPod to iTunes. Worked very well...

Alright, so I have a larger collection than I do iPod. I'm also running iTunes off of both my PC at work and my Mac at home. So, I'd like to format my iPod and rebuild it from my Mac, since it picks the wrong song about 40% of the time. Who knows, I'd trust the native software more.

This leads me to my issue. I have the same .mp3s on the Mac and PC. BUT there is a playlist on my iPod that contains all that is on my iPod, this way I can control which of my collection goes on and which doesn't (since it wouldn't all fit) There has GOT to be a way for me to get this small file off of my iPod to actually function on my Mac.

This guy has written a script, which is awesome. So if you have it, I'd love to...also have it.

However, if anyone has had any luck with this please clue me in.

Thanks guys,
