Positive Remarks

This forum is suppose to be about EphPod. The Good and the Bad. Currently its mostly Bad. I for one LOVE EphPod and want others to know what a great program it really is!

At home I use usb 2.0 and at work I use firewire. Personally, I can't tell the difference in speed. They are both FAST!

I organize most of the music into Albums so selecting "Make Playlist for Each Album" is amazingly easy! I then sort by name for alphabetical order. Make finding an album much easier.

I also found it easier to modify ID3 tags AFTER I upload to the iPod. Just highlight the group of songs and hit a function key. It will even prefill the text from the first one. Simple.

Another great thing is you don't have to store your mp3's on your HDD. No need! But if you want them back on your computer. Ephpod makes it easy! Select the songs then download to a directory!

There are so many good things about EphPod. This forum should reflect that.

All new iPod owners should know... EphPod RAWKS! :D

Just one little thing thou, just in case you don't already know, altering tags in ephpod does not change them on your hard drive. So if you ever have to do a restore all those changes will be lost.

Like i said before, I DONT keep my mp3's on my hard drive. I keep them on my ipod. Its a waste of space in my own opinion. If I want them on my hard drive, I just right click on the song(s) and "Copy Songs to Directory". It keep the ID3 tag intact since it was modifing the file on my ipod not the computer. If i wanted to modify tags on my hard drive, I would either just upload to the ipod, change the tag, then save to directory. Another option is hit ALT 3 in winamp, or use an ID3 tag editor.

In other words, I don't expect ephPod to manage my mp3's on my hard drive, its a management tool for the ipod.

I like Ephpod and will always use it for sync but if you have a bad crash on your ipod and it affect you music files on it you lose all you data. I'm say that it good to have a more stable backup to your music. plus depending on the hard drive size in your computer get a second drive. I have two of them(80 & 120), one for play music for winamp(80g) and the other is solid backup for music, data, pics, etc.(120). Just having my ipod with all music is just to chancey for problem but your are right on ephpod for managing my music coollection on the ipod. Itunes is ok but with all the bugs problems with the program, conflict with other music managers and plus I heard even with Itunes store it very buggy that ephpod is still my favorite of the freeware programs.
