MC and backup when pc dies
One of the reasons why I bought my 40 gig Ipod is so that I have a second place to store my music in case my pc dies.
What happens if my PC dies and i lose my music and MC9 db/library.
Since MC9 renames all my mp3 files to numbers on my IPOD will i be able to recover the songs with the correct names off my Ipod without restoring my library since my PC died? Or would i have to pull the files of the IPOD 1234.mp3 and listen to each one and rename them.
Also could someone tell me the difference between using explorer in Hard disk location in advance section in MC9 and the my computer link in MC9
thanks

You can use any good tagging program (like MC9) to rename the files based off of their tags if that ever happens. The good news is that even your MC9 Ratings will be intact because they are stored in the MP3 files that are copied to your iPod.
So, you could just drag the "Music" folder off of the iPod, to your PC. Then import all the songs into an empty MC9 library, hightlight all the songs, right-click and select "Rename Files from Properties" and they would all be renamed and put into Artist/Album directories w/a a naming converntion of your choosing.
There really isn't a difference between the two view schemes. Once you get used to using a non-folder based viewing paragidm, you'll probably find it much easier to navigate through your tunes.
